Sometimes, the best thing to do is to close the laptop lid

Last weekend’s AI Summit left me buzzing with ideas. I came away inspired by the possibilities of agents, automation, and the chance to scale education in ways that could reach far beyond my immediate circle.
It didn’t matter that I wasn’t able to take on the full package that was creative and compelling. It may have led me to making billions as I strode forward with the AI movement ahead of the mass adoption that is just around the corner... but making billions is not on my agenda; making a difference is.
Our family motto: be good and do good.
At the Summit, what I saw was mind‑blowing. A few tricks I had already seen and will bore anyone who will listen, but Tony, Dean and the amzing and insightful team shared deep, meaningful ideas on how one scales a business. (Brilliant timing as I finish my organisational and developmental essay for Uni!)
In one week, I have dabbled with data and collaborated with coding. I’ve explored Copilot Studio and Azure AI Foundry, weighed up licensing models, adopted Otter AI to support my work, and refined my resources with updated branding. It’s been exhilarating, but it’s also meant that most mornings I’ve seen 1am on the clock. The excitement is real, yet so is the reminder that I am human and I need sleep.
This weekend, something arrived that felt like a grounding anchor: the AI Advantage Team’s Playbook. The Summit lit the fire but the Playbook showed me how to keep it burning without burning out.
The Playbook
The AI Advantage’s Playbook — by Tony Robbins and Dean Graziosi — is not about chasing shiny tools. It’s about structure, sustainability, and clarity. It offers a framework for applying AI in practical ways, breaking down complex ideas into manageable steps.
For me, it feels like a bridge between the inspiration of the Summit and the reality of my course and professional commitments. It’s a reminder that I don’t need to do everything at once. I can take bite‑sized steps forward, weaving AI into my journey in ways that complement my learning rather than overwhelm it.
It also inspires me to create one for schools on early intervention. Not a shiny pitch, but a gentle reminder of what is already possible — how a few changes can make a huge difference to pupils, their families, and to staff themselves. It’s another way to be good and do good.
We humans all need sleep, and to give ourselves a break. By tapping into AI’s skills, we can do just that and still give 110%.
The Realisation
AI is dazzling. It promises shortcuts, automation, and scale. But balance matters. The Playbook reinforces what I’ve already been learning: one resource, one workflow, one experiment at a time.
It’s not about speed. It’s about sustainability.
The Why
My vision remains the same. I want to share education across the world, helping people be all they can be, understand why history keeps repeating itself, and how we can break those cycles to better ourselves.
Education is empowerment. And empowerment means that we need the energy to embrace that power. I’m building resources that are rigorous, emotionally intelligent, inclusive, while using aesthetics to spark creativity and mindfulness. We could all do with a touch more serenity and calm.
These will take time. I can jump in now, but I don’t have to put off making the change because it’s not yet perfect.
If not now, when?
The Playbook gives me a way to align that vision with practical steps.
This Week’s Blog Takeaway
Yes, this week’s blog is short. We could all do with an early night.
If you’re navigating the same tension between ambition and rest, here’s my gentle reminder:
Balance ambition with rest. You are human, and sleep is part of the creative process.
Take bite‑sized steps. Frameworks like the Playbook can help you move forward without overwhelm.
Keep your “why” in sight. Tools are only as powerful as the vision they serve.
The Summit gave me wings, but the Playbook reminds me to rest them so I can fly further.
I’ll keep sharing my journey: the experiments, the resources, the reflections. For now, I’m closing the laptop early, making tea, and letting energy build for tomorrow.
For at dawn, we ride!
