Hello
🌸 Hello, I’m Fliss — welcome to Study Beyond English.
This is a space shaped by care, creativity, and community. A place where English becomes more than a subject; it becomes mindful, expressive, and deeply human.
I created Study Beyond English to support pupils, families, teachers, and every member of school staff who hold so much. Here, you’ll find tools designed to soothe, steady, and empower young people during the moments when pressure feels loudest.
Everything you see here is built with one intention: to help children feel grounded, capable, and seen.
Below, you’ll find more about my journey, my values, and the heart behind this project.
My Story 🌸📚🐾🖥️✒️☕🌸
I’m Fliss — an educator, a storyteller, and someone who believes that every child deserves to feel supported by the whole community around them.
After a decade teaching English, Drama, and Performing Arts, I stepped away from the classroom to reclaim presence, creativity, and connection. What followed was a shift into a role that allowed me to see education from a wider lens — one that includes pupils, parents, carers, teachers, support staff, and every adult who plays a part in a child’s day.
My work now is rooted in one simple belief: when the whole school community feels supported, children thrive.
Study Beyond English grew from that understanding. It’s a space where learning meets wellbeing; where English becomes a tool for grounding and self‑expression, and where every resource is designed to honour the human being behind the grade.
Why I Do This
Every January, as New Year’s optimism fades and exam season approaches, anxiety rises across the entire system. Pupils feel the weight of “one chance”. Parents and carers worry. Teachers and school staff brace themselves for another cycle of pressure, knowing that even a six‑week summer holiday rarely offers six weeks of rest.
I’ve lived all sides of that experience — as a teacher, a parent, and as someone who supports schools daily. I know how heavy it can feel. And I know how transformative it is when a young person feels grounded, supported, and seen.
Study Beyond English exists to offer that grounding.
English is not just a subject. It’s a space for reflection, resilience, and self‑expression. It’s where pupils can reconnect with themselves when the pressure is loudest.
Why I Create Tools — And Why They’re Free Right Now
Everything I make is built on one principle: if I have the capacity to remove a barrier, I will never choose to build one.
AI has opened the door to tools that once took hours of planning, designing, and refining. Now, I can build them quickly, ethically, and with safeguarding at the centre — and that means I can give them away freely.
Right now, there are no paywalls and no barriers.
Support should never sit behind a price tag when pupils, families, and school staff are already carrying so much.
My hope is to keep it this way for as long as possible.
If life ever shifts — if this becomes my full‑time work, or circumstances change — I will always communicate openly, and I will always prioritise accessibility, fairness, and care.
Supporting Schools, Face to Face and Beyond
I believe in strategic, ethical use of AI — not as a shortcut, but as a support system. With stringent safeguarding, transparency, and professional judgement, AI can help teachers and school staff reclaim time, reduce burnout, and personalise support for every child.
But nothing replaces human connection.
Study Beyond English is about being present:
supporting school communities face to face, offering clarity in complex situations, and building tools that honour the realities of education, not the fantasies of policy.
Who is Flo?
Flo lives at the heart of Study Beyond English — not just as inspiration, but as a guiding presence. She appears throughout our videos and posts as an animated teacher: an AI mentor, tutor, and gentle cheerleader who supports every visitor who arrives here. Her character embodies warmth, clarity, and encouragement, offering steady guidance during moments when learning feels overwhelming. Through her voice, her gestures, and her calm, grounded energy, Flo helps young people reconnect with themselves, reminding them that learning is emotional, relational, and deeply human. Her legacy shapes every tool we build and every story we tell.
What You’ll Find Here
Resources that soothe.
Tools that support.
Stories that spark imagination.
Everything created with one intention:
to help young people feel grounded, capable, and seen.
If there is a small way I can help, I will.
If there is a tool that can lighten the load, I’ll build it.
If there is a story that needs telling, I’ll tell it.
Study Beyond English isn’t about grades.
It’s about growth, grounding, and gentle guidance — for pupils, for families, and for the staff who hold so much.

Mission and Values
Our Mission
To make learning feel human again.
Study Beyond English exists to support pupils, families, teachers, and all school staff with resources that nurture confidence, calm, and connection. Through mindful English tools, narrative‑rich revision, and ethically guided AI, we aim to remove barriers — not create them — so every young person can feel grounded, supported, and seen.
We believe education should honour the whole person.
We believe support should be accessible to everyone.
And we believe that when the adults around a child feel equipped and cared for, the child thrives.
Our Values
1. Humanity First
Every resource begins with the person, not the grade.
We honour emotions, identity, wellbeing, and lived experience.
2. Sustainable Accessibility
Right now, all resources are free, because support should never be blocked by cost when families and school staff are already stretched.
If circumstances ever change, we will communicate openly and keep accessibility, fairness, and compassion at the centre of every decision.
3. Ethical, Safeguarded Use of AI
AI is a tool, not a replacement for human care.
We use it strategically, transparently, and with safeguarding at the heart.
4. Community Over Individualism
Education is a collective effort.
We support pupils, parents, carers, teachers, and all school staff.
5. Calm in the Chaos
Exam season brings pressure for everyone.
Our resources are designed to ground, soothe, and steady.
6. Creativity as Connection
English is storytelling, reflection, imagination, and self‑expression.
We use creativity to help young people reconnect with themselves.
7. Integrity in Every Detail
From safeguarding to design, we commit to clarity, honesty, and care.
8. Presence and Partnership
We believe in being there — face to face, in community, in conversation.
