Safeguarding

Study Beyond English Ltd works with children, young people and adults through our online learning, apps, workshops and tutoring. Every child has the right to be safe, respected and listened to, and we act on every concern.

How our apps keep children safe

Accounts for under-18s are held by a parent, carer, school or organisation.

There is no messaging between students and no public profiles.

In the GCSE English: Sorted Learning Hub, students' answers stay on their own device and are never sent to us.

No adult has contact with a student through our apps.

Live sessions with young people are booked with a parent or carer and never held one-to-one without their knowledge.

GCSE English: Sorted – International works the same way as our UK Learning Hub: there is no contact between adults and students, and students' answers stay on their own device. Where a school uses it, the school's own safeguarding policy and Designated Safeguarding Lead come first.

If you are worried about a child

If a child is in immediate danger, call 999.

Contact the child's school, or the children's services team of the council where the child lives. In Herefordshire, that is the Integrated Front Door on 01432 260800 (out of hours: 01905 768020).

Children can call Childline free on 0800 1111.

A concern about us

If you are worried about anything to do with Study Beyond English, contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead. A concern about the Designated Safeguarding Lead herself goes to the Herefordshire Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) on 01432 261739.

Working with schools

Where a school uses our services, the school's own safeguarding policy and Designated Safeguarding Lead come first, and we work within their arrangements.

Our full Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy is reviewed every year and is available on request.
