1. Our Approach in Short

Our tools are designed to run on your own device. You do not need an account to use them, and we do not track your behaviour or use advertising cookies. Where a tool includes AI-assisted features, those features run inside your own browser, so your content stays on your device. We do not store it, and we cannot see it.

Across all SBE tools, we do not:

• Collect personal data unless you choose to give it to us

• Store your scripts, writing, or audio

• Send your content to us or to outside servers

• Track your behaviour across the web

• Use cookies for advertising

• Sell your data, or share it with third parties for their own marketing

• Require an account to use our core tools

 

2. Information You Choose to Give Us

You may choose to provide information when contacting us, subscribing to our website, purchasing a digital product, signing up for updates, or submitting a form.

This may include your name, your email address, payment information (processed securely by Stripe), and any message you send us.

We use this information only to respond to your enquiry, provide the service you requested, manage your subscription, and send essential updates about your purchase or account. We never use your information for marketing unless you explicitly opt in.

 

3. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our websites, we may collect basic, non-identifying information such as the pages you visit, your device type, your browser type, and your general location (for example, your country). This helps us understand how people use the site and improve accessibility. We do not use advertising cookies or behavioural tracking.

 

4. How We Use AI and Automated Features

Some of our tools use automated or AI-assisted features to support learning, for example to generate feedback on writing or to provide rehearsal support. These features run inside your own browser, on your own device.

This means that when you use an AI-assisted feature:

• Your content stays on your device and is not sent to us or to any outside server

• We do not store your content, and we cannot see it

• We do not use your content to train AI models

• Automated feedback is designed to support, not replace, the judgement of a teacher, tutor, or parent, and should be reviewed by a person before being acted on

 

5. EchoGuide tools

EchoGuide is designed to be safe for schools, families, and public use. EchoGuide:

• Stores your scripts only on your device using local browser storage

• Processes speech recognition in your browser

• Does not store your audio or upload your speech to us

• Does not send your script to us

If you delete your browser data, your saved scripts disappear with it. EchoGuide Pro adds advanced features such as OCR, playlists, and rehearsal mode. These follow the same principle: your content stays on your device, and we do not store it or send it to an outside server.

 

6. Life Planner and Timetable Planner

The Life Planner and Timetable Planner run entirely in your browser. It stores your timetable locally on your device, does not upload or share your schedule, does not require an account, and does not track usage. You can delete your timetable at any time by clearing your browser storage.

 

7. Essay Compass and English Assessment Engine

The Essay Compass and the English Assessment Engine analyses writing and generates feedback to support learning. It runs in your own browser, including its AI-assisted feedback features. Your writing is processed on your device and is not sent to us or to any outside server.

We do not store your writing, we cannot see it, we do not use it to train AI models, and we do not sell it or use it for marketing. Your work remains private to you, and the feedback is there to support a teacher’s judgement, not to replace it.

 

8. Payments and Subscriptions

Payments for EchoGuide Pro and other SBE products are handled securely by Stripe. Stripe may collect your name, your email, your payment details, and your billing address, and processes this information securely on our behalf. We do not store, and we do not have access to, your full payment details. Your use of Stripe is also subject to Stripe’s own privacy policy.

You can cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of your billing period.

 

9. Cookies

We use minimal, essential cookies only, for website functionality, for remembering your preferences, and for ensuring secure checkout via Stripe. We do not use advertising cookies or behavioural tracking.

 

10. Children’s Privacy

SBE tools are designed to be safe for children and young people, with safeguarding and emotional safety built in. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and our core tools do not require a child to create an account.

Where a tool is used in a school or by a family, we expect the account, subscription, and any payment to be managed by a responsible adult aged 18 or over. Schools remain responsible for obtaining any consents required under their own data protection and safeguarding policies. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@studybeyondenglish.com and we will delete it promptly.

 

11. Data Security

We take data security seriously. We use HTTPS encryption, secure hosting, Stripe’s PCI-compliant payment processing, and local-only storage for your scripts, writing, and timetables. The only personal data handled by a third party on our behalf is the payment information processed by Stripe, who we have chosen for their strong security and data protection safeguards. Your data is never sold, shared for advertising, or used for advertising.

 

12. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:

• Request access to any personal data you have given us

• Ask us to correct or delete your information

• Withdraw consent at any time

• Object to or restrict certain processing

• Unsubscribe from emails

• Request deletion of your customer record
