That belief comes from my own family story — from watching my mother carry more than any parent should ever have to carry, and from the promise I made to protect the joy and steadiness my own children now have.
Acorns holds that same promise for families facing the hardest moments. Their work is gentle, human, and profoundly necessary, and it aligns with everything SBE stands for: compassion, presence, and the protection of childhood in all its forms.

For children and families navigating hospice care, these small pockets of creativity can offer a sense of normality, agency, and joy. EchoGuide Events can be adapted for quiet rooms, family days, sibling support, and community gatherings — always with dignity, accessibility, and warmth.
